Pilates is a form of exercise developed to help get the most from the human body.
It takes learnings from the study of anatomy and physiology, from martial arts, gymnastics, boxing and body building.
It works on the principle that your core is your centre and all movement extends from this. Because of this underlying principle, it’s a safe practice for any and everyone.
Joseph Pilates himself suffered from ill health and devised the system of Contrology to help improve his own health. It proved so successful that he felt compelled to share it.
So whatever your current exercise status, high octane, in recovery or ‘been a while’ you can ‘return to life’ through Pilates practice.
What to expect…
The classes are each built up from a number of elements. You will work all of your body, the focus will be on your core whilst mobilising the body as a whole.
There will be higher impact elements, stretching and time for relaxation.
